Diplomat in Residence for the Mid-Atlantic Region

    
Jasper R. Daniels:  DIR 2016 - 2018
The current Diplomat in Residence for the Mid-Atlantic Region is Jasper R. Daniels, a Foreign Service Specialist who began his career as a Support Communications Officer in 1985. Currently a senior officer specializing in Information Management with the Department of State, he has had overseas posts in literally every inhabited world region, including serving as the Management Counselor at US Embassy Freetown, Sierra Leone. During this assignment, he was designated acting Deputy Chief of Mission for an extended period of time.

Jasper is not new to the Diplomat in Residence program, having served for the previously as DIR for the four states comprising the Southwest Region – Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, and Utah. Prior to that he was assigned to Washington, DC as the Director of the Systems and Integration Office in the Bureau of Information and Resource Management. He is a veteran of the United States Army. As a native of North Carolina with close family ties in the state, Jasper was only too happy to transfer to the Mid-Atlantic region this past summer. He has been assigned DIR to our region from 2016 – 2018.
