The purpose of the organization is to promote a better understanding of foreign policy-related issues among its members through periodic meetings and social events.
Membership consists of present or former foreign service employees, military, and other US Government civil servants, former employees of international organizations and/or private companies who have worked overseas and others interested in foreign affairs and/or public diplomacy.
