Members of the Carolina Friends of the Foreign Service and their guests are invited to the upcoming CFFS Luncheon at 11:30am on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. The venue for this lunch is again the University Club located off US 15/501 just north of the overpass connecting US 15/501 to I-85. As usual, we will gather for the social period at 11:30, moving to our tables at noon.

Speaker Bio and Topic: Ambassador (ret) W. Robert Pearson, of Tennessee, is a Fellow at Duke University’s Center for International and Global Studies Rethinking Diplomacy Program, a non-resident Scholar at The Middle East Institute in Washington, President of American Publishers Inc., a digital journal on American foreign policy published in cooperation with the University of North Carolina, and a partner at Spectrum Group, a Washington consulting firm. He is a local leader for the Equal Justice Initiative in North Carolina. The topic of his talk is "Preparing for the Future.

The cost of the luncheon is $35.00, which includes coffee or tea, green salad, entrée, and dessert. A cash bar will be available.

 

Salad: Mixed Greens with Tomato, Carrot, Cucumbers and Croutons

Lunch entrée choices are:

1)         Creamy Mushroom and Spinach Gnocchi with Parmesan Cream and Toasted Panko

2)         Pan Seared Salmon with Orecchiette, Grilled Asparagus, and Herb Butter

3)         Chicken Madeira with Cremini Mushrooms, Cherry Tomatoes, Sweet Peas, and Angel Hair Pasta

Dessert: Chocolate Mousse

Annual Dues: Your annual membership dues for calendar year 2023 ($10.00 per person) are now due and payable. All recipients of this message, both long-time members and those who are newly joining, are requested to submit their dues now. If you are planning to attend the February 7 event, your dues can be included along with your luncheon payment. Members who are 80 years of age or older are considered to be life members and are exempt from dues payments. Please let us know who you are.
