Dr. Andreas Freytag is Professor of Economics at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena (www.wipo.uni-jena.de), Honorary Professor at the University of Stellenbosch and Visiting Professor at the Institute of International Trade, University of Adelaide.
He focuses on German and international economic policy, international trade policy, development economics and international policy coordination.
Andreas Freytag is also Director of Tutwa Europe (www.tutwa-europe.eu), member of the CESifo Research Network, a STIAS Fellow, and associated with a number of think tanks. Freytag is also a founding member of the G20 Trade and Investment Research Network (https://g20tirn.org).
Prof. Freytag has worked for the European Commission, the World Bank, the IMF, the OECD, German ministries and numerous think tanks, foundations and private clients. In the Fall of 2023, Freytag was a DAAD Fellow at the American German Institute in Washington D.C.
